THE ROOM INC. was founded in 2023 by Yuta Kitahara with a singular purpose: to make Japan's high-yield Short-Term Rental market accessible to sophisticated international investors who lack the local knowledge, regulatory expertise, and operational infrastructure to navigate it alone.
Japan's STR landscape is uniquely complex. The interplay between Minpaku Law, Hotel Business Law, and local municipal regulations creates a maze that deters most foreign investors. We built our entire business model around mastering this complexity—turning it from a barrier into a competitive advantage.
Headquartered in Ebisu, Shibuya — one of Tokyo's most prestigious addresses — we develop, operate, and sell premium STR properties across Japan.
